Cameroon Dream

Elemighong Village Water Project

The 2019 project chosen by CDVTA to be the focal point of our fundraising has been to provide a sustainable water supply for Elemighong village in Cameroon. In the village as it stands today, good drinking portable water is scarce, exposing locals, especially women and children, to the dangers of infectious diseases.

In this village, children and women travel over a kilometer to distant poor water sources to fetch water for drinking and other household chores. These water sources are poor and often contaminated with germs and bacteria that end up causing various water borne illnesses. CDVTA, after having several meetings with Elemighong community, intends to address sustainable development with the goal to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by providing access to clean portable drinking water to the Elemighong local population through a water supply project driven by gravity.
